Season It Right…Let It Fall ♥️

Last week, I was writing to you about this Vata season, which is still with us till mid November. Since then, many of you wrote back referring to feelings of insecurities rising up, low energy and an overall disconnect between how beautiful it is out, with the color of the leaves changing, to how scattered and confusing it is, on the inside.

Indeed!!! This sounds a lot like this time of year, like a true Vata energy; not dark and cold and depressive, but somewhere in the middle and a departure from summer….who doesn’t love summer?????

But here is the most important point. The lesson in all of this. Romanticism of the past, clinging to what was is what we CONSTANTLY do!!!!!

My dear friends, the only thing I can assure you is that the only thing certain in our living story IS THE CHANGE – that’s about our only constant!!!

The faster we lose the ATTACHMENT to summer vibes, or anything no longer around, the better we can see what IS!!! I am not here to ask you to let go of beautiful memories – GD no!!!! That attachment to the memories in a way that holds you back from seeing the beauty IN THE CHANGE, is what I’d recommend to slowly RELEASE.

Who does not love summer????? Easy going clothes, easier schedules (typically), vacations, longer days, more summer moments with loved ones, happy free kids etc, etc, etc…..

But what can Fall offer????? What can winter and spring???? What is the promise in change…..

If you are ready with me, to SEASON RIGHT, consider the few following steps and let me know if you’re still clinging to summer (will worry about winter when it’s time for that, ok?):

  • Find time to GROUND!!!!!! You are slower now than you were during summer/don’t have the same amount of energy? Well, stop fighting and surrender to it. Don’t try to catch up or compare the “you in summer”, but be you, now, in fall. Slow down, not as a failure, but as a choice. Adapt different vibes and different rhythms. Savor simple, stillness kind of days. If your body asks to rest more, listen! Breath deeper – take the Vata in!!!! When you practice yoga, close your eyes on and off and sink into the marriage between BREATH AND MOVEMENT – this one is my absolute favorite!!!!!!
  • WARM YOURSELF UP!!!! We talked about this aspect last week – eat warm, soothing, comforting food. Add many, many root vegetables like carrots, potatoes and beets into soups, stews, or even just grilled, garnished with homemade tahini or just a sprinkle of lemon!Use essential oils on your feet before going to bed (sesame oil in this season is recommended) for a good night sleep. Take long baths with lavender salt, ginger powder or geranium.
  • Create a healthy ROUTINE you can live up to!!! Set yourself up for success – don’t copy the summer routine, create a fall one – surrender to change….”be empty….like water”, as Bruce Lee would say. Routine will help you process those erratic vibes Vata season tends to throw at us.
  • Let GO – RELEASE!!!! Fall may painfully remind you that another year begins, that you are getting older and that it is time to check some items off your bucket list. Hear me out, the more pressure you put on that bucket, the faster it will leak.Lose resolutions and find instead INTENTIONS – resolve to feel as you want to feel every day, right after you open your eyes. Work your life intentions day by day. Dive deep into what really matters and if its not here yet, see what truly, holds you or “it” back from manifesting.

Even the most beautiful leaf on a tree, eventually falls…..release what you are NOT and what you are not MEANT TO, and tune in to what you are and WILL BECOME!!! Love and respect yourself, ALWAYS!!!

I am the founder/owner of Neshama Yoga Studio—a sacred place for all to come, listen and  meet their one and only, unique SOUL (Neshama).

Revi-Lations was born out my students’ positive reactions to my weekly newsletter and different peeps along the way who kept urging me to think about a blog, a podcast or something in between.

Posting my newsletter on my website, is my natural “In Between“. We had a few names as potentials (Revi’s corner, Revi’s Soapbox and few more…), but it landed on Revi-Lations, by my gorgeous, talented, writer Sis-in-law, Lisa Barr (who has an open book with all my mistakes in English, saved for a day she needs to use it against me 😱.  I’m sure soon enough, you would too…).  I do hope you enjoy it and if it ever gets you through the day, drop a comment and let me know.

As always,
Love,
Only love,
Give love,
Be love –
