Our Journey, My Music, Saving A Soul ♥️

These past weeks, we have covered heavy subjects and with them heavy hearts over The Holocaust Memorial Day, as well as last Monday and Tuesday, honoring the fallen soldiers everywhere as it was the Israeli Memorial Day and the upcoming Memorial day here (studio will be closed).

One thing with respect to repairing the world from pain and suffering, was the concept of ALL OF US MAKING IT HAPPEN – one little act at a time.

This approach is positive as it inherently hides the potential in all human capacity for good and in all of us to bring it fourth no matter what the contribution is – monetary, connecting one to another, giving a free hug, smile, caring gaze, food when you’re sad or sick.

To honor The Holocaust Memorial Day last week as it took place in Israel and to bring our young closer to the memory of it so it never happens again, nowhere and to no one, we decided to watch Schindler’s List by Steven Spielberg. This movie, both my husband and I have watched before with our oldest, but it was time to introduce our little guys to the danger in growing “anemic” to the pain of someone else.

At the end of the movie, I was reminded why it has left such a mark, the first time I’ve watched it. That is, the deep understanding that we ALL have parts and that “If you save one soul, it is as if you have saved an entire nation”, taken from the Jewish teachings of the “Talmud”.

When the amazing Ben Kingsley offers Oscar Schindler (Liam Neeson), a gift from all the Jewish people he had saved, a ring with the quote above, he cries so hard, looks at his gold watch and cries, “this is five more souls….”, looks at his car, “three more”, at his pin, “one more”…..the magnitude of what saving a soul means, takes over him with such deep, broken cry….

To truly appreciate the Talmudic teaching, watch at the end how Schindler’s List of survivors, visit his grave with their kids, grandkids, and grand, grandkids … generations later, from ONE SINGLE SOUL!

The next time you feel powerless amidst the world’s wrong doing and dark times, remember, one soul, one hug, one donation, one act!!!!!

Teach your kids the same; one friend to save, to include, to respect!!!

More on that and how it is all tied to Gun violence, on the next newsletter ….

WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

I am the founder/owner of Neshama Yoga Studio—a sacred place for all to come, listen and  meet their one and only, unique SOUL (Neshama).

Revi-Lations was born out my students’ positive reactions to my weekly newsletter and different peeps along the way who kept urging me to think about a blog, a podcast or something in between.

Posting my newsletter on my website, is my natural “In Between“. We had a few names as potentials (Revi’s corner, Revi’s Soapbox and few more…), but it landed on Revi-Lations, by my gorgeous, talented, writer Sis-in-law, Lisa Barr (who has an open book with all my mistakes in English, saved for a day she needs to use it against me 😱.  I’m sure soon enough, you would too…).  I do hope you enjoy it and if it ever gets you through the day, drop a comment and let me know.

As always,
Love,
Only love,
Give love,
Be love –
