What a week!!!! Right after hearing our oldest landed safely in Tokyo, Japan, we all had a miraculous am practice together, enjoying the blessings of the upcoming New Jewish Year, meant for ALL of us, Jews or not. Indeed, we are all about to embark on a new cycle, starting this Saturday, as the Vata Season and the fall equinox begin.
But as life is, this week, with the high holidays both exciting and exhausting, emotional fatigue as we send one kid off to his journey and another one ON THE DAY OF A NEW SEASON, grounding is calling me.
On Wednesday, as I was seating to my early am meditation, a sense of warmth and golden light was felt on my forehead. It is hard for me to stop a meditation for ANY reason but something inside told me, this time, I should!!
Indeed, our yard was golden, the trees were illuminated and as I looked up, to top it off, a rainbow was shielding us from above, with love and a promise.
I run in, called my crew to jump off their beds and come see- I SO hope you were up to see the beauty of life, in such ancient simple way- G-D’s grace, if you may…..if not, enjoy the pic below.
I felt like the universe had reminded me, Vata season is coming and the shift into a more grounding Being, in now in place. My body knew….the universe confirmed!!
You see, we so like to be PRESERVED; in any way possible, humans love to preserve- their body, their energy, their look, their weight, their property, wealth and so on and so fourth…..
Nothing is ever ours forever!!! Nothing!!!! NOT EVEN OUR KIDS!!! This is a truth that will serve us, the moment we learn the validity behind it and lean to the PROMISE within.
NO!!! We do not, and suppose not, to have the same FIRE energy we had in the summer- summer in NOT fall, and we move from FIRE energy into AIR. Trees let go and should we.
This is not BETTER OR WORSE, it just IS!!!
Joy and love, can only exist from a strong, rooted BEING. When you are able to be at peace, not matter what, then you are able to ACT. Grounding well, yields to ACTION. And if you are able to cherish the peace in BEING, the quality of your action will grow ten folds.
Let the summer in you FALL OFF. Ground into Vata – move slowly, walk, bike, enjoy the AIR element in this transition season. The air may bring with it raw emotions, but if you are BEING, you will see the POSSIBILITIES hiding in.
SAVOR SIMPLICITY!!!
In the attempt to work WITHIN THE VATA and not against, consider:
Sleeping early
Move from cold salads to warm roasted veggies like root vegetables, soups, hot tea, oatmeal stews etc.
If you are not a vegetarian, this is the best season for meat and eggs, as well as nuts and dairy products.
Take a bath with essential oils as the weather gets dry and influences our joints.
Don’t chase the big crowd or those relationships that you need to over nurse, chase and reset over and over again. Instead, go with what is natural, deep, authentic, expanding.
Practice a daily routine like a walk or yoga- I had an hour and a half Ashtanga practice planned for this morning, but as life is, had an unexpected event which had set my schedule behind. I leaned into it, accepting the Vata energy asking for me to adapt and a half Mala later, I feel like the GODS read my mind and my soul and conspired an am from the heavens- thank you!!!
Don’t fight- surrender!!!
