Don’t Break The Chain ♥️

This week’s theme in classes was about THE CHAIN; supporting each other, committed to each other, healing together, keeping the CHAIN.

In the book we cover, Into the Magic Shop, By James Doty, a pivotal moment in his life, after manifesting everything he ever wanted; becoming a doctor, collecting wealth, having fancy cars etc, he loses it all and heads towards bankruptcy . But then the moment of realization, when he gets notified by his attorney that there is a good amount of money left in a charity paper work, which never was fully processed and can now save him, is being revealed.

Doty decides to go ahead with this donation and empowers himself in such freedom mindset, as id like to call it. That is, the power to give ( no matter how much you have OR you don’t- it’s all a choice, a mindset), the power of healing, of compassion, of doing what’s right…..to gain it all back and doubled- to gain yourself by KEEPING THE CHAIN- of humanity, of compassion, of charity, of what truly is most important to me in Jewish ethics, THE CHESED ( kindness and love between people).

We all focus heavily on pain and trauma caused to us by our immediate family. It is an absolute valid one and I know from many healer friends, it’s a big one!!!

But there is a collective trauma we don’t acknowledge enough. That is the LOSS OF THE CHAIN; THE LOSS OF TRIBALISM and the collective responsibility and the oneness.

Traveling in Iceland with my family, I felt both expansive and in awe amidst the beautiful land. But on top of it, there was a heavy layer I carried with me, which I wasn’t sure I wanted to give way to… I mean how can I ????it is so so flawless…but is it????

Coming across a gifted artist and one who seemed thirsty to talk about the gray shades of Iceland, Icelandic people don’t really want to talk about, I realized I tapped into something real, and lonely and sad. The depression and suicide rate in the country is very high.

The winter is beyond challenging and dark and heavy and long. Being an island, resources are scarce, even in summer, let alone in winter. As he and I agreed, with the rise of the internet and smart phones , what used to keep them happy and mentally well was THE CHAIN; the kinship, the family, the collective presence during dark long, cold days, the TRIBE.

Unlike the Danish and Norwegians communities, who keep on winning on the Happiness Project by keeping the tribe, infused with the HYGGE philosophy, with neighbors gathering for collective meals under a candle light, creating a cozy, safe net of wellness and contentment.

In the words of James Doty, “ The Heart wants to connect us and wants to share. It wants to show us that there are no differences and that ultimately we are all the same.” We moved in a way of prayer this week to bring this passionate, compassionate, collective love to our sacred space, so we can walk out of the studios, passing it on to others….AMEN❤️

I am the founder/owner of Neshama Yoga Studio—a sacred place for all to come, listen and  meet their one and only, unique SOUL (Neshama).

Revi-Lations was born out my students’ positive reactions to my weekly newsletter and different peeps along the way who kept urging me to think about a blog, a podcast or something in between.

Posting my newsletter on my website, is my natural “In Between“. We had a few names as potentials (Revi’s corner, Revi’s Soapbox and few more…), but it landed on Revi-Lations, by my gorgeous, talented, writer Sis-in-law, Lisa Barr (who has an open book with all my mistakes in English, saved for a day she needs to use it against me 😱.  I’m sure soon enough, you would too…).  I do hope you enjoy it and if it ever gets you through the day, drop a comment and let me know.

As always,
Love,
Only love,
Give love,
Be love –
