Dancing Ourselves To A Miracle 💙

Those of you who are close to me and have been with me for a while now, know, that music is a drug I use daily!!!!

Shortly after my morning meditation ends, music is the sound of our home, throughout the day, to the point that my mailmen is sure there is a party here always and in a sense there is!!!

Music can enhance everything we do, it takes us easily back to moments of joy; a celebration ceremony, first kiss, first born lullaby ….our life soundtrack!

Dance and movement have been just as much a tool for me to express myself till a fork came along, as I was getting closer to high school graduation, begging me to face that decision I had avoided – The Academic Journey OR the Arts.

I went with the academics only to find myself back in the arts, diving into what I wanted to achieve through the academics which is essentially, educate the ones I love about themselves and about FEELING, slowly correcting old habits that fail us all.

But music can also trigger pain, evoke harsh images and memories … but that is something we cannot avoid and leave at bay, creating an enigmatic pain that will later turn to anger, fear, hate … DIVISION!

Music and dance and the world of Arts can be healing and a powerful tool; a prism into our emotional state of mind, our Nehsmama’s (soul) topography and we need it now more than ever.

Music, dance and any movement, carry our emotions and support them with grace. Moreover, music, dance and any art belongs to ALL of us and hence, UNITE!!!! It is a symbol, a tool, owned by no one and everyone and a great white, clean, graceful canvas in which to laugh, cry, mourn, sweat it all … feel … express … soften …

Play your music, especially the one taking you back to complex feelings you need to unveil and DANCE with … BEFRIEND YOUR DEMONS!!!

If we all use the world of Arts as such, we will soon arrive at such empathy, that darkness will fear us, and NOT the other way around!!!!

For some of my students and myself, dancing to an upbeat music over the past few weeks, especially to sounds of techno, was a sharp hit to the heart, remembering beautiful innocent brothers and sisters, dancing with so many strangers from all over the world, sweating their “daily mundane“ away and uniting IN DANCING THEMSELVES TO MIRACLES!!! Some may have entertained a new love a story, some maybe a new job, a trip around the world and many may have just taken the weekend off to dance their gratitude!!!

And so, for the young, beautiful dancers, we move!!!! We grace ourselves in the pain of moving and sweating to their sound of terror … we dance for their last moments, for their souls to ascend, for their loved ones who wish they could return … we also dance for the dancers still wising to dance as the sun rises, when they return home soon from captivity, GD’s willing.

DON’T AVOID!!!! FEEL!!! Challenge your heart and drop your grieving into music and movement – IT WORKS!!!

In the words of my favorite man, Albert Einstein – “WE ARE THE DANCERS, WE CREATE THE DREAMS”.

Don’t let your music stop … EVER!!!

I am the founder/owner of Neshama Yoga Studio—a sacred place for all to come, listen and  meet their one and only, unique SOUL (Neshama).

Revi-Lations was born out my students’ positive reactions to my weekly newsletter and different peeps along the way who kept urging me to think about a blog, a podcast or something in between.

Posting my newsletter on my website, is my natural “In Between“. We had a few names as potentials (Revi’s corner, Revi’s Soapbox and few more…), but it landed on Revi-Lations, by my gorgeous, talented, writer Sis-in-law, Lisa Barr (who has an open book with all my mistakes in English, saved for a day she needs to use it against me 😱.  I’m sure soon enough, you would too…).  I do hope you enjoy it and if it ever gets you through the day, drop a comment and let me know.

As always,
Love,
Only love,
Give love,
Be love –
