A Call To Action ♥️

Today is the Jewish holiday of SHAVUOT – a celebration of the passing of the Torah to the Jewish people on Mount Sinai.

One of the commandments you’ll see below, and I’m sure you are all aware of, is “You Shall Not Murder”. I chose the image below, with the GUN SYMBOL to discuss and increase the volume around this issue we should NOT put to rest; GUN VIOLENCE!

So many beautiful things I love about being an immigrant in this country and like any, issues that need to be fiercely dealt with, exist as well. For so many of us, the last incident of a horrible gun violence, that could have been so easily prevented, in Texas, terrified us, shocked us and then….as humans will be, we have moved on.

Not the case for the families of the victims! So many souls, as a result of this UNEXPECTED and UNNECESSARY tragedy, will never be the same. Life, will not go on as it used to before. As I mentioned in a previous newsletter, with respect to karma Yoga- the Yoga of ACTION, there comes a time, when our good energy, intentions and thoughts, simply don’t cut it!!!! This is one of them!!!

It is time to raise our country’s vibration by ACTION! Please, don’t feel hopeless in your ability to help; there are small and big ways to do so. You cannot mobilize a movement? Join one! You are not equipped to change a law? Learn about it, donate to an organization that does, and vote for the representative that cares!

This will not be yet another case of “it will not happen here/ to us”…..unless we act!!!! This can happen anywhere, to any one of us and our KIDS!!!!

I am not here for politics – never a subject I like to get myself entangled in. I am here for a way of life, of ethics, of SACRED LIFE, of adhering to the most ancient and basic commandment ; You Shall Not Murder”, and you shall not stay passive in the event you can help preventing the next one!!!!
