On the Eve of a New Year coming at us, 2023, I would like to emphasize the totality of it’s single digits – 2 plus 0, plus 2, plus 3 = 7 – magical, spiritual, powerful number 7!!!!
You already know my love for numbers and the hidden messages they carry in their numerological value and even just in how they keep showing up in our lives, always carrying messages when we need them most.
If you needed those on the Eve of a New Year today, I hope this letters finds you.
Number 7 in many traditions and sacred practices hold so much significance:
We have seven days of creation and hence, seven days of the week, we rest on the seventh day – Shabbat, to “seal in the week”, to let our work settle into fruition while we gather with family members, friends and our minds. Just like a Yoga practice, think about Shabbat, if you are Jewish or not, as the pause, the “death” of the yoga practice – savasana, before the start of a new one, and similarly, the death of one week and the renewal and beginning of another. There are so many more “sevens” in Jewish scriptures such as seven words in the first sentence of the book of genesis, seven skies, seven days of both Passover and Sukkot, the number seven appears 700 times in the scriptures, the seven claims/statements Jesus spoke in agony upon the completion of the crucifixion and these are just to name a few examples.
But why? What hides in the “Seven” – let’s look a little closer:
If you look around you, you will find, over and over again, that any matter and every object hold 6 sides or dimensions – up, down, right, left, front and back. Here, the number 6 represents physical structure, what is seen and felt – what we can prove….what is physically limited. But when you add seven, you bend further…when you add the element of spirituality – number seven, to the element of matter and objects – six, you can bend, expand, unfold and grow; beyond what is seen, beyond proof, beyond constriction and limitations.
Furthermore and based on the above, our/your Neshama – our SOUL.
The human body is physical and can only bend/stretch so much due to its six physical sides and their physical limitations. Neshama, the human soul is beyond physics, able to grow, stretch the life force, PRANA, beyond limitation and beyond constriction. When 6 ends, seven begins….
Seven Completes.
Seven Reveals.
Seven Seals.
Seven Rests and Heals.
Seven expands beyond reality……into a realm we FEEL.
Without SEVEN, WE, ARE, LIMITED!!!
If you are still looking to grow and expand, find your seven, tune into your Neshama (called my sacred space that for a reason), unfold beyond your own limitations, join us this year, find a book to read, spend more time with your mind, invest in rest…..SEVEN YOURSELF UP!!!!
